The Corner Store started online operations in 1991, before the graphical interface of the World Wide Web was a part of everyday parlance. Having worked at Bell Labs as a researcher in the mid 1980's, founder Paolo Pignatelli foresaw that the great synergy between computers and communications would develop into a new industry with explosive growth, and worked with IBM, and other industry leaders to take advantage of the new possibilities. The Corner Store today is a leader in software licensing for businesses and associations.
